GPT Image 2 (codenamed Duct-Tape) is OpenAI's next-generation image model, expected to natively integrate into the GPT-5 series. Three checkpoints — maskingtape-alpha, gaffer-tape-alpha, and packingtape-alpha — appeared on LM Arena in April 2026 for blind testing.
